Surge in Dengue Fever Raises Concerns

WEB Cancun and its parent state Quintana Roo have experienced a significant rise in dengue fever cases, with Quintana Roo now reporting the highest number of confirmed cases in Mexico.

Since the start of 2024, Quintana Roo has reported over 20 confirmed cases of dengue in the first three weeks of the year alone, representing a notable increase over previous years.

Dengue fever is considered an ongoing threat in Mexico, with cases reported year-round throughout the country. However, health officials and tourism authorities are urging travelers to take precautions to avoid infection, particularly in the affected areas.
